Vaillant System Boiler and Joule Unvented Cylinder Installation in Putney

We replaced an outdated gravity-fed system with a new Vaillant system boiler and Joule unvented hot water cylinder, relocated from the airing cupboard to the utility room. The upgrade delivers strong mains-pressure hot water, improved heating efficiency, better hygiene. The instalation also freed up valuable storage space, all with minimal disruption.

The Challenge

The property was running on an outdated gravity-fed heating and hot water system, with a vented cylinder located in the landing airing cupboard. The homeowner was experiencing poor hot water pressure, inconsistent performance, and limited storage space. As a family of four, they wanted a modern, reliable system that would improve water pressure, efficiency, and free up much needed space within the home.

Our Solution

We removed the existing gravity system and vented cylinder, relocating the hot water storage from the airing cupboard to the utility room. The new installation included:

  • A remastered Vaillant EcoTec Plus 30kW boiler, selected for its Which? quality rating, high efficiency, and dependable performance

  • A 210L Joule unvented hot water cylinder, connected directly to the mains for improved pressure, flow rates, and hygiene. No main upgrade was needed on this occasion because there was already enough pressure coming into the property. This was measured during the property assessment

  • Full conversion to a pressurised system, providing consistent hot water throughout the property. This means all the outlets, including taps and showers can be used at the same time. No more cold water shocks in the shower when someone uses the kicthen tap!

  • A complete powerflush of the heating system to remove sludge and debris, ensuring optimal performance and long-term reliability

  • A Vaillant Boiler Protection Kit was installed to help keep the heating system clean and running efficiently at all times.

The system was carefully designed to meet the demands of a 4-bedroom household with multiple bathrooms.

The Result

The homeowner now benefits from:

  • Strong, reliable mains-pressure hot water across all outlets

  • Improved heating efficiency and system responsiveness

  • Cleaner, more hygienic hot water supplied directly from the mains

  • Increased storage space by removing the cylinder from the airing cupboard

  • A quieter, modern system built for long-term performance

  • Peace of mind that sludge in the pipes and radiators will not compromise the performance of the heating system

The project was completed efficiently with minimal disruption, leaving the home with a future-ready heating and hot water system.
