Underfloor Heating Installation in Cheam
For this newly built home in Cheam, we installed underfloor heating throughout both the ground and first floors. On the ground floor, a 16mm in-screed system was laid beneath porcelain tiles for efficient, even heat distribution. Upstairs, UFH was installed between the joists beneath wooden floors and in the bathrooms, providing comfortable warmth throughout.
The Challenge
The homeowners wanted a modern, energy-efficient heating solution for their new build property in Cheam. They contacted us to install a system that could provide comfortable, even warmth throughout the house, integrate seamlessly with the building’s floors and finishes, and be easy to control. The ground floor had porcelain tiles, while the first floor featured wooden floors and bathrooms that also required efficient heating.
Our Solution
We designed and installed a complete underfloor heating (UFH) system across both floors, tailored to the specific flooring types:
Ground Floor: 16mm in-screed UFH system installed beneath 14mm porcelain tiles for efficient and even heat distribution.
First Floor: UFH installed between the joists beneath wooden floors and in the bathrooms, ensuring comfort without compromising the aesthetics of the timber finish.
Control System: Heatmiser thermostats were installed to provide precise, user-friendly temperature control throughout the property.
Manifold Locations: Manifolds were strategically located in the ground-floor airing cupboard and under the stairs leading to the loft on the first floor, providing convenient access for maintenance.
Heating Source: The system is connected to a Mitsubishi air source heat pump, delivering energy-efficient heating while regulating temperatures evenly across both floors.
